After-School HikinG Club
Welcome to our after-school Hiking Club, where adventure awaits children aged 5-12! Our club provides a fun and social environment where kids can explore the wonders of nature right after school. Whether arriving by our convenient van transport or dropped off by caregivers, each session begins with exciting hikes through the park, allowing us to connect with nature and discover its hidden treasures. Occasionally, we venture to the library and other nearby spaces to engage in activities like cooking and crafting using materials sourced from the forest. Every day, our club offers opportunities for creativity, play, and learning about the environment. Join us for an enriching experience filled with exploration, friendship, and hands-on discovery!

Schedule
Wild Whimsy After School Hiking Club is offered Wednesday & Thursday from school dismissal-5pm. Van transport is available from Magnolia Elementary and Lawton Elementary on Wed, and from Magnolia Elementary and Coe Elementary on Thurs. Any school that has 4 registered students in the Ballard, Magnolia or Queen Anne area schools can get van transport started at their public or private school.
Families not utilizing the van transport may drop-off between 1:40-1:50pm on Wed, and 2:50-3:00pm on Thur.
Pickup is at 5 pm.
Adventure
Welcome to our after-school hiking club, where children ages 5-12 can unwind and explore the forest at a leisurely pace after a focused school day. Each session focuses on discovering intriguing points of interest such as unique plants, fascinating fungi, or breathtaking views within the park. Kids will have the opportunity to maintain a field notebook to record their nature discoveries and insights from our explorations. As the winter days shorten, we adapt by using headlamps for evening hikes and learning about adaptation, climate and how to love the rain! Join us for an enriching journey through nature, where learning, exploration, and fun are at the heart of every adventure!
